The affects of the Black Mamba's bite

The bite of a Black Mamba is feared by anyone that lives in their habitat. It has the ability to strike several times delivering enough poison to kill 12 men with every bite. It is a feared predator hunting and protecting itself with it's bite. The poison causes many different affects once it is in your body. The neurotoxin in it's poison causes the nervous system to fail. You will start to loose your vision and become nausous. Within ten minutes of the bite you can go into cardiac or respiratory arrest.

Mamba venom is made up dendrotoxins, fasciculins, and calciseptine. The venom is a light weight protein which allows it to spread very quickly. The dendrotoxins affect the exogenous process of muscle contraction by attacking the sodium potassium pump. The venom is very specific and super deadly.

I used many sources, but this was the main source of most of my blog.

  1. Indeed. That's why I would rather choose to be bitten by a copperhead than a black mamba. In addition to that, they're the fastest snake.

Fastest + Very Deadly Venom = Sure Death

Reportedly, only a few had survived from a black mamba's bite. Source: http://www.blackmambas.net/
